When is Mycopunk on PS Plus?
Sony's PlayStation Blog post from October 14, 2026 lists Mycopunk in the October Game Catalog lineup. The lineup is dated October 20, which is also the game's PS5 launch day. That makes Mycopunk a day-one catalog title.
The official Japanese release announcement from September 2026 independently confirms day-one Extra and Premium availability on PS5. With two official written sources agreeing, the date and tiers are well established.
The PS5 launch time on the official PlayStation page is 17:00 UTC, or 10:00 AM PDT. Check your PlayStation Store on the day for the exact moment it appears in your region.
What Mycopunk is, if you are new to it
For PS Plus members trying the game from the catalog, Mycopunk is a sci-fi, mission-based looter shooter developed by Pigeons at Play and published by Devolver Digital. You play as a robot exterminator fighting a fungal outbreak, alone or in an online crew of up to four. Missions reward upgrades that you fit into a limited grid on your gear.
The game has been in Early Access on PC since July 10, 2025, and the PS5 launch arrives with the full 1.0 release. That means plenty of existing guides and community discussion are already available, even on day one.
Which PlayStation Plus tier do you need?
Sony places Mycopunk in the Game Catalog for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium. Members of either tier can download it from the catalog while it is available. You do not need to buy the game separately to play it this way.
PlayStation Plus Essential is different. It includes online multiplayer, but not the Game Catalog. An Essential member who wants Mycopunk needs to buy it or upgrade to Extra or Premium. Compare the cost of upgrading with the price of the game in your region; both are valid routes to playing on PS5.

- Premium: Mycopunk included in the Game Catalog.
- Essential: online play, but no access to the catalog game.
Catalog access vs Monthly Games
It is easy to confuse the Game Catalog with the Monthly Games. The October announcement is not a Monthly Games claim-and-keep offer. Mycopunk was announced as a Game Catalog title for Extra and Premium.
Catalog titles stay available only while they are in the catalog. The October announcement does not state a removal date for Mycopunk, so we cannot promise how long it will stay. If you want to keep the game permanently, buying it is the reliable option.
Online co-op still needs PS Plus
Sony's game page states that PlayStation Plus is required for online play. That requirement is separate from how you obtained the game. Buying Mycopunk and accessing it through the catalog are different acquisition paths, and neither replaces the membership needed to play online.
In practice, every player in an online crew needs a PS Plus membership. Essential's online multiplayer benefit covers that need, but it does not give access to the catalog copy of the game.
Solo play does not require an online connection, so you can still learn the game alone without a membership if you own it outright.
Buying the game vs playing through the catalog
There are two separate paths to playing Mycopunk on PS5. Buying gives you a copy that does not depend on the catalog. Playing through Extra or Premium gives you access at no extra cost for as long as the game stays in the catalog and your membership is active.
We do not list a standalone PS5 launch price, because none was confirmed in the sources checked for this guide. Check the PlayStation Store in your region for the current price before deciding. For Extra and Premium members, the catalog is a low-risk way to try the game first, and buying remains an option later if you want a copy that does not depend on the catalog.

These official dates show how Mycopunk reached the PlayStation Plus catalog. Each one comes from an official store page, trailer or announcement.
- July 10, 2025: Early Access begins on Steam.
- September 20, 2026: PlayStation and Devolver publish release-date trailers for October 20.
- September 21, 2026: official Japanese press release confirms PC and PS5 plus day-one Extra and Premium access.
- October 14, 2026: PlayStation Blog lists Mycopunk in the October Game Catalog.
- October 20, 2026: PS5 launch, 1.0 release and catalog availability.
Trophies when playing through the catalog
A complete PS5 trophy list had not been published before launch, so we cannot yet say which trophies exist or how hard the platinum is. Our trophy guide collects the PC achievements that are documented and will add the PS5 list once it can be verified.
We also could not find official information about what happens to saves or trophy progress if a catalog game later leaves the catalog. Check PlayStation's own help pages for your region if that matters to you.
Regional availability
Catalog lineups can vary between regions. A YouTube overview of the October 2026 Extra and Premium lineup by PlayStationGrenade has a Mycopunk chapter at 01:22, but its additional claims about regional scheduling were not accepted without official confirmation. Check your own region's PlayStation Store and membership before relying on catalog access.
Getting started on PS Plus
On launch day, open the Game Catalog in your PS Plus section and download Mycopunk. If you plan to play with friends, confirm that everyone has a PS Plus membership for online play. Then decide whether to start solo or as a crew; solo is a good way to learn the controls before joining an online group.

We will not promise a catalog removal date, a permanent free copy or catalog access for Essential members. None of those are supported by the official announcements. We also do not claim a PS5 launch price.
If Sony announces a change, such as Mycopunk leaving the catalog, we will update this page. Until then, the October 14 PlayStation Blog post is the authoritative source.
