Finding the official Steam page

The official Mycopunk listing is Steam app 3247750, published by Devolver Digital and developed by Pigeons at Play. Searching the store for Mycopunk should take you straight to it. If a page shows a different developer or publisher, it is not the official game.

The store page is the best place for anything that changes by region, such as price, discounts and supported languages. Prices are snapshots that vary over time and between countries, so this guide does not list a permanent price. Open the store in your own region before buying.

Early Access and the 1.0 release

Mycopunk entered Steam Early Access on July 10, 2025. The publisher's launch press release from the same day confirms that start date. Since then the game has received many numbered patches, including Oxythane Breach, Ouroboros and The Enemy Update.

The full release, often called 1.0, is planned for October 20, 2026 on PC and PS5. Devolver's September 2026 trailer announces the move out of Early Access on that date, and the official Japanese press release confirms it. As of October 19, 2026, Steam still listed the game as Early Access.

Keep the two dates separate when you read about the game. July 10, 2025 is when Early Access began, October 20, 2026 is the full release, and the numbered patches in between are updates rather than release dates.

Which trailer is which?

Two official Devolver trailers are often confused. The Early Access Launch Trailer was published on July 10, 2025, the day Early Access began, and is labelled “Available Now on Steam.” The 1.0 Release Date Trailer, titled “Blasting OUT of Early Access on October 20,” was published on September 20, 2026.

The first shows the game as it launched in Early Access; the second announces the full release. Keep the dates in mind when a video is described as “the launch trailer,” since that phrase can refer to either one.

What the Early Access version contains

The English Steam Early Access description lists 587 upgrades and four playable characters. Those counts describe the Early Access version and are likely to change, because the 1.0 release on October 20, 2026 adds new content. We will update the figures once the 1.0 store description can be checked.

The 1.0 announcements describe the game leaving Early Access on October 20, rather than launching as a separate product. Check the store page after launch for the final 1.0 description and feature list.

Minimum PC requirements

The Steam store lists the following minimum requirements. These are the publisher's published figures, not results from independent hardware testing.

  • Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit.
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM.
  • Graphics: GeForce GTX 960, Radeon R9 380 or Intel Arc A380 class.
  • Storage: 10 GB available space.

What the requirements do and do not guarantee

Minimum requirements tell you the hardware the publisher expects the game to run on. They do not promise a particular frame rate, resolution or setting on every machine. Your experience will also depend on drivers, background software and the missions you play.

This guide did not benchmark the game, so it does not claim specific performance numbers. The 1.0 release adds new content, which can affect performance, so check the store page again after launch in case the listed requirements change.

Steam Deck compatibility, native Linux or macOS support and 1.0 performance were not independently tested for this page. Check the store page and recent player discussions for those platforms before buying.

Steam features: co-op, achievements and Steam Cloud

The Steam store lists online co-op, single-player, Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud. Co-op and solo are both fully supported, so you can learn alone and join a crew later. Our matchmaking guide explains how the in-game crew browser works.

Steam Cloud keeps your save in sync across your own PCs. It is not cross-platform progression, so it does not move your save to PlayStation. Crossplay between Steam and PS5 had not been confirmed as of October 19, 2026; see our crossplay page for updates.

Achievements are documented by players on Steam. Our trophy guide lists a few examples and explains why they cannot yet be treated as the PS5 trophy list.

What players think

When checked for this wiki, 3,216 of 3,510 English-language Steam reviews were positive, about 92%. That figure covers English reviews only and comes from Steam's review data with all purchase types included. It may differ slightly from the summary on the store page, which can use different filters.

Review numbers change daily, especially around a major release like 1.0. Treat this as a snapshot and check the store page for the current score.

Steam community and official updates

The Steam Community hub for Mycopunk hosts discussions, player guides, screenshots and the official announcements. Patch notes are posted in the announcements section, which is the most reliable record of what changed in each update.

Player guides on Steam can be very useful, but they are written by players rather than the developer. This wiki cites them when several independent players agree, and labels them clearly as community material.

Modding the Steam version

The PC version supports mods through the BepInEx loader and Thunderstore packages, and the developer added preliminary mod support in update 1.0.5. Hosts can choose whether to allow modded players in their lobbies. Our mods guide explains the setup and the multiplayer rules.

Mods apply to the PC version only. No verified way to mod the PS5 version was found.

Steam or PS5?

If you play on PC, Steam is the platform the game has been on since Early Access, with mods and a large community library of guides. If you prefer console, the PS5 version launches on October 20, 2026 and also joins the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium catalog that day. See our PS5 guide and PlayStation Plus page to compare.

Before buying on Steam, it is worth doing three quick checks: compare your PC with the minimum requirements, read recent reviews in your language, and confirm which platform your friends will play on. Co-op is central to Mycopunk, so playing on the same platform as your crew matters while crossplay remains unconfirmed.

Whichever you choose, our beginner overview is the best place to start learning the game.
